Packing Suggestions

DON’T use duct tape alone. It is good against the water, but it is brittle. As you can see, you don’t need scissors to cut it.
However, you can cover it again with the tape that we provided for more security.

DON’T overlap or criss-cross the box’s lids. Put the small lid in first, then the long one last.  We advise you to tape the box first up to the mouth openings before you put anything in. One tape per box is good enough.
Bear in mind that they are for your loved ones. Pack them carefully and safely. You can’t expect us to finish it, that is not our job. The more tape, the more secure it is from the rain and any leakage from the other boxes.

DON’T make one box heavy and the other too light. When closing the boxes, make sure that there are no gaps. Both lids should meet.
Balance the weight in each box. Make sure that shampoo and lotion are wrapped and taped to avoid spillage.

DON’T buy foods that have a short shelf life.
Check all the expiration dates.

DON’T send milk, drinks in cans, wines, oils, vinegar, glass jars, bleach, or paint.
Think of the possibility that they will break, dent, and leak. Unless you will take the risk, at least pack them neatly, use bubble wrap individually if needed, and then put them in another box.

DON’T send anything for celebration or when you go on a short holiday and expect to use it on a certain date.
Consider delays due to holidays, weather, and congestion. Send them earlier than you normally do to ensure their arrival.

DON’T count from the date of the pickup.
Start from the actual time of departure (ETD) of the boat.

Don’t put anything highly hazardous and flammable, like lithium and alkaline batteries, gas canisters, or any other forms of vehicle parts, in the boxes. Air guns, swords, or anything alike, relics, or museum items. The container will be scanned with an X-ray.
We
will hold you responsible for any undeclared prohibited items, which can cost you a big penalty.

Don’t put any monitors, TVs, washing machines, or ovens in the box. These items should be packed in a crate or wooden box and sent individually.
Lastly fill out the declaration forms completely.

OVERWEIGHT AND DEFORMED AS WELL AS  HALF-TAPED BOXES ARE SUBJECTS FOR EXTRA COST FROM €30. WE ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PICK UP OVERWEIGHT BOXES DUE TO HEALTH REASONS AND TO AVOID ROAD PENALTY.

REMEMBER, YOUR BOX, ALONG WITH THE OTHER HUNDREDS IN THE CONTAINER, HAS A LONG JOURNEY TO MAKE, BE REASONABLE, AND BE RESPONSIBLE WHEN PACKING.
